Detailed explanation
A man who had aspired to become a writer. However his dream has broken and he has developed schizophrenia. He seems to be confusing himself with a writer or something. In a midsummer evening, in his room of a country inn, a kind of novel that he seems to have written were there.
'On the beach, I picked up a human shaped fish which is still breathing. I have got interest in it as it seems to be very similar with mermaid. But if I would have been spotted by the inn's mistress or the serving ladies, I'll be reproached. So, I brought the fish in.'
